Each year the Centre offers over 300 photography and digital imaging workshops with world-renowned photographers and digital imaging artists who participate in previews of their master classes at FotoFusion. This year Kevin is teaching two shooting classes, one with reknowned photographer Vincent Versace and two hands-on Photoshop courses in the Centre's brand new computer labs.

Photographing the Contemporary Figure in the Studio • Tuesday, January 19th • 1:30-5:30pm
The figure of a woman is one of photography's great, classic themes. Award winning photographer Kevin Ames will guide you in creating memorable photographic studies of the female form in a studio setting. The class begins with a one hour introduction to figure photography that includes valuable techniques for interacting with the model, posing, props, styling and lighting techniques that will enhance your experience. In the studio, you will put the concepts into practice by working with models in creating enchanting figure studies. Bring your camera, extra memory cards, a tripod and the expectation of making truly wonderful photographs of a classic subject, the female form.

Fantastic Portraits—It’s all Smoke, Mirrors and Photoshop • Wednesday, January 20th • 8:30-10:00am
How are regular portraits evolved into the fantastic images of fantasy and science fiction? Answer this question in Kevin’s newest session that shows how to use simple special effects to create unusual, illustrative, and surreal portraits. Learn how to add the sci-fi effect to your work, illusion, magic and much more.

On Location: The Digital Figure with Kevin Ames & Vincent Versace • Thurs, Jan. 21st • 2:15-5:30pm
If you love shooting figure studies in nature you’ll love this FOTOshoot. On location with celebrated digital image-makers Kevin Ames and Vincent Versace, in a beautiful tropical Florida setting, you will become skilled at how to pose, light and photograph beautiful models with your digital SLR.

Layers, Layer Masks and Unlimited Undos Forever • Friday, January 22 • 2:30-4:00pm
This hands on session is an overview of the retouching portion of Kevin's acclaimed "The Art of Photographing Women" workshop. Once a Photoshop file is saved and closed, the history is gone forever and so are the undos. Replace those destructive adjustments dialogs and pixel killing tools like the eraser with layers, adjustment layers, layer masks, layer groups and Smart Objects. This workshop will fill you with ideas that will not only take your post-production techniques to the next level you’ll do them so you can always remember what you did and be able to change it even years later.
